Ortho Technician
Maria Jimena Ilaria studied to be a dental technician at the university in Uruguay. She worked for five years in a dental clinic called the Orthodontic Centre in Montevideo, Uruguay. During this time, Maria gained extensive experience in performing splints and orthodontic retainers for a wide range of patients. This experience allowed her to develop a deep understanding of the different types of appliances used in orthodontics and their impact on achieving optimal results.
She’s always been passionate about helping others, and being a Dental Technician allows her to positively change people’s lives by improving their oral health. It’s a privilege to play this role in such a positive journey and a truly rewarding career, and she is eager to keep growing alongside the talented team at Dentures by Design, where she can continue contributing to these life-changing experiences.
Maria has also always been drawn to careers that allow me to work with my hands and be detail-oriented. Dentistry provides a perfect mix to utilise these practical tasks while also helping patients. The dental technician field is constantly evolving, and Maria is passionate about staying up-to-date on the latest advancements. This ensures she can provide the best possible care and contribute to the team’s success at Dentures by Design.
Outside of work, she loves spending time with friends and family, enjoying the sunshine on the stunning Gold Coast beaches, exploring the beauty of nature on camping trips, or sharing a delicious dinner with loved ones. Beyond these activities, she also loves going to the gym to stay active and recharged! These experiences bring joy and fuel Maria’s focus and positive energy. Beyond these activities, her true passion lies in exploring the world; every trip lets her learn about different cultures, their way of life and traditions. Plus, it’s a chance to try delicious food!
